Under Assembly Bill (AB) 1111, a statewide Common Course Numbering (CCN) system will be implemented across all California Community Colleges by July 1, 2027. This system will assign the same course numbers to comparable courses across colleges, making it easier for students to:

These courses are aligned with the new CCN templates and meet both general education and major preparation articulation standards for the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems.
Special Note: COMMC1000 (Public Speaking) and any course without prior IGETC/Cal-GETC approval will require submission for UC and CSU review by December 2024.
Starting Fall 2025, the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) will replace the current CSU General Education Breadth (CSU GEB) and Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC). Cal-GETC will serve as the single general education pattern for students transferring to both CSU and UC institutions.
